Summary
This detailed report was commissioned by the Scholarship Project. Its aim was to explore the profile and needs of part time students studying on college higher education courses. The report does not focus specifically on scholarship but on some of the preliminary activities, which, by seeking to enhance engagement in general, are likely to establish a foundational learning experience from which deeper forms of scholarly activity could emerge. Some of the ideas to further enhance forms of student scholarship can be found in other resources, e.g. A Research Based Induction to Aid Student Transition, and Developing a research and scholarship rich curriculum for higher education students in college settings
